Earth Day Celebration & Clean Up

Each year, South Portland Land Trust hosts a citywide clean up on or around Earth Day.

This year, the Land Trust’s clean up is part of a larger program in celebration of Earth Day, the Earth Day Resource Fair.  This celebration was developed in partnership with the South Portland Parks, Recreation & Waterfront Department and Dirigo Science Connection and takes place in Mill Creek Park from 10am-2pm on Saturday, April 26th.

SPLT CITYWIDE CLEAN UP

Help pick up trash that collects in and around the City's green spaces, trails, beaches, etc.--wherever you think a cleanup is needed. (However, please stay away from streets with active traffic.) To start, come to Table #21 at the Earth Day Fair in Mill Creek Park. Our volunteers will provide bags and maps of where you can drop off the trash bags for City crews to pick up on the following Monday.
Registration is encouraged by clicking the button below.
Thank you for your efforts!

SPLT Annual Meeting

Join the South Portland Land Trust for our Annual Meeting on Wednesday, December 18th, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the South Portland Community Center - Casco Bay Room (21 Nelson Road, South Portland).

Speaker:
Andy Gagnon - South Portland Park Operations Manager, City Arborist

Andy has loved trees and trails for most of his life and been an arborist for ten years. Andy will lead an informal conversation about his job, trees, and trails. He will also touch upon the Emerald Ash Borer project in South Portland, invasive species, as well as how trees can be useful to mitigate urban heat island effects and climate change in general.  Bring your questions about trees and trails, and get to know someone who has made a significant commitment to both! Andy has been a great friend and volunteer of the Land Trust.  Bring a friend or two to enjoy the evening's conversation.

RSVPs encouraged!
