Lands

The City of South Portland boasts over 525 acres of park and preserve land (of which 300 are actively maintained).

Bug Light Park, Spring Point, and Thomas Knight Park, all offer terrific views of Portland Harbor and the Portland skyline. Here you can relax and enjoy the invigorating Maine sea breeze. If you’d like to dip your toes in the sand, we recommend taking a stroll along Willard Beach, with its inspirational views of Portland Head Light and the islands that dot Casco Bay. For a change of pace, head inland and discover Trout Brook Nature Preserve or Hinckley Park with fresh water ponds, streams, and equally refreshing woodland trails.
