Free "No-Dig Gardening" Lecture and Workshop

SPLT's sponsored organization, Community Garden Collective, will be hosting a free lecture on "No-Dig Garden Bed Construction" by Lisa Fernandes of Portland Maine Permaculture on Saturday, October 1 at 8:30 am in the gym of the former Hamlin Elementary School at 496 Ocean Ave. (Rt. 77 and Sawyer St.).  Participants will learn how to build garden beds of any size or shape using materials from their home, yard and neighborhood.  A hands-on workshop will follow the lecture, with participants helping to begin building no-dig garden beds at CGC's first community garden, located behind Hamlin School. 


CGC encourages all attendees to participate in the workshop and asks participants to wear/bring:

  • Sturdy Footwear
  • Work Clothes
  • Work Gloves
  • Water Bottle
  • Snacks
